Gage Saylor & The Creekside Boys are a band of brothers plus their best friend from a small rural town in coastal North Carolina called Ocean Isle Beach. Two years ago they turned their garden shed into a rehearsal space and started channeling the likes of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Tyler Childers and Jack White into their own original sound, a sound their fans affectionately call "Swamp Grunge." The band's first introduction to the world came on March 31, 2026, when popular YouTube Channel RadioWV caught wind of them and drove to Ocean Isle Beach and filmed them performing their song "Hymnal". When the video went live on YouTube, it found a fan base and quickly went viral. It’s now well over 1.3 million views and 3,000 comments and counting. The band went from their garden shed to playing shows all over North Carolina.
Their debut album, In Misery We Trust, was released a little over a month after the viral video on May 8, 2026. The band describes the album as "the culmination of the last few years of trial and triumph. Our hope was to convey through our music the unique ups and downs of coastal life for the average man and woman from our area of NC. Every song was written and rehearsed in our old garden shed that we converted into our own playground, no fancy gadgets or equipment, nothing but heart and soul."
